Among many sectors involved there\u2019s also the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.toy-design.com\/category\/educational\/\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>education<\/b><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">: school is slowly leaving its skin made out of books, exams and memorization to wear the one of new ways of teaching, often based on <b>learning by doing.<\/b><\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">From this principle born the idea of <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/peer.momentnyc.com\/\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>Peer<\/b><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">, a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mixed_reality\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>mixed reality<\/b><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\"> platform that combines analog and digital elements to engage the students, <b>making tangible some complex and often abstract concepts<\/b> like aerodynamics, acceleration or sound waves. The idea and the entire <strong>product-service system<\/strong> were developed by <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.momentdesign.com\/\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>Moment Design<\/b><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">, a design consultancy based in New York that saw an innovation opportunity in the education field through the <strong>combination of virtual reality and prototyping<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">[su_vimeo url=&#8221;https:\/\/vimeo.com\/179221793&#8243;]\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The design team, researching to develop <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/peer.momentnyc.com\/\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>Peer<\/b><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">, on one hand deepen the topic of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Virtual_reality\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>virtual reality<\/b><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\"> on the other get down the field in some American <b>primary schools<\/b>, from the more traditional to the ones that already use innovative methods. For the moment the system is aimed for kids between 9 and 14 years old and portray a complete and balanced experience between <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.toy-design.com\/category\/technology\/\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>technology<\/b><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.toy-design.com\/category\/educational\/\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>education<\/b><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">, potentially relevant to others subjects and age targets. Surely is a good example of how <b>toy designers can use technology to educate.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A typical science class with <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/peer.momentnyc.com\/\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>Peer<\/b><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\"> starts from the teacher explanation to his pupils of how, for example, aerodynamics principles work; everybody wears a vr viewer in the kit. The second phase is the <b>analogic<\/b> one: students take off their viewers, build a wind turbine model and test empirically its operation. The third and last phase is the <b>feedback <\/b>one, pupils wear again the viewer and they can adjust their models to make them more efficient and see how the combination of their wind turbines produce energy to feed a small city.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3566 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.toy-design.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/toy-designers-can-use-technology-to-educate_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.toy-design.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/toy-designers-can-use-technology-to-educate_2.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.toy-design.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/toy-designers-can-use-technology-to-educate_2-320x213.jpg 320w, https:\/\/www.toy-design.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/toy-designers-can-use-technology-to-educate_2-640x427.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.toy-design.com\/category\/technology\/\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>technology<\/b><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\"> behind <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/peer.momentnyc.com\/\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>Peer<\/b><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\"> rest on the combination of sensors and viewers and allows the kids to visualize, learn and deepen the topic thanks to the immediate reaction of cause and effect that they see in front of them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3568 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.toy-design.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/toy-designers-can-use-technology-to-educate_3.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.toy-design.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/toy-designers-can-use-technology-to-educate_3.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.toy-design.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/toy-designers-can-use-technology-to-educate_3-320x213.jpeg 320w, https:\/\/www.toy-design.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/toy-designers-can-use-technology-to-educate_3-640x427.jpeg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/peer.momentnyc.com\/\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>Peer<\/b><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toy-design.com\/category\/educational\/\"><b>educational<\/b> <\/a>approach proves to be a lone voice in the introduction of technology in the school system. In this case is not about giving a tablet to every child, introduce interactive blackboards or design something that isolates the individual pupil from the rest of his mates.
