It is a latest trend the one of\u00a0making kids inventors of their own toys\u00a0<\/strong>by helping them\u00a0to make real\u00a0their ideas<\/strong>, inviting them to start\u00a0creating lifelike structures that they can really use. Suppose that you get a great idea but, you do not know how you can transform it into something real..\u00a0Nowadays our society and our day to day, is made possible by all kinds of creative and technical inventions. So, as design<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0technology<\/a><\/strong> plays an important part in our lives, it would be interesting to consider it\u00a0in education<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This kind of learning process<\/strong> exceeds the practical aspects of design<\/a><\/strong> and technology<\/strong><\/a>,<\/strong> helping kids to find solutions\u00a0by developing their creativity and perseverance.<\/strong> It is a fantastic way to encourage creative thinking<\/strong> in\u00a0children.<\/p>\n

Infento<\/a><\/strong> derives from the latin phrase \u201cinfinite makes<\/strong>\u201d and has been created by the designers Spencer\u00a0Rotting<\/strong> and Sander Letema<\/strong> as the \u201cworld\u2019s first real constructible rides\u201d.<\/p>\n

Having in mind that everyone can have a great idea, Infento<\/a><\/strong> comes in to help children to learn how to<\/strong>\u00a0convert their ideas in something real<\/strong>. Very often, construction materials are miniaturized or you need\u00a0expensive or complex tools and materials. That\u2019s why Infento<\/a><\/strong> has developed a modular construction<\/strong> material that\u00a0is strong, easy to use and incredibly versatile.<\/p>\n

Infento<\/a><\/strong> has developed an education package<\/a><\/strong> that ensures that pupils can play and\u00a0learn<\/strong>\u00a0in an\u00a0investigative way<\/strong> using design <\/a><\/strong>and\u00a0technology<\/a><\/strong>, real materials and techniques that are used in everyday life and are available for everyone.<\/p>\n

The education package<\/a><\/strong> combines creativity, technical and\u00a0“making” feel, and\u00a0fun while learning<\/strong> in a unique way.\u00a0The Infento Education Kit<\/a><\/strong> is especially designed for schools. It is in fact a perfect solution to bring pupils of all\u00a0ages in touch with a\u00a0scientific and<\/strong>\u00a0engineering mindset<\/strong>, in the spirit of\u00a0STEM education<\/strong>. Children build structures that are close to their experiences and make\u00a0use of real materials<\/a><\/strong> and techniques.<\/p>\n

The design is\u00a0developed in such a way that parts can always be reused for new structures<\/strong> and during\u00a0the time materials can be transformed into different shapes and structures. This is the very feature I appreciate because it is a smart way to reduce production of new products and yet keep the emotional link with the toy even if it took new shapes.<\/p>\n

Infento<\/strong><\/a> can be used for multiple levels<\/a><\/strong> for primary education<\/a><\/strong>, practice<\/strong> education<\/a><\/strong>, lower vocational\u00a0<\/strong>education<\/a><\/strong> and lower general secondary education.<\/a>
\n<\/strong>
\nChildren of 3-6 years<\/strong> old can start with the first level building structures based on animals.<\/strong> In this level\u00a0there are just needed 2 types of bolts, 1 type of nut and 2 connectors. In the next level, older pupils\u00a0can challenge themselves using a limited number of connectors and bolts to come up with something\u00a0themselves and build it. In the third level, pupils can build the called \u201ckey objective structures\u201d, specifically focused on driving, braking and steering. These structures are also well suited for activities in small\u00a0groups of 4-6 pupils<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The highest level is your own imagination.<\/p>\n

Infento<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In the next level children can build four different large models (rides). Learning<\/strong> with Infento<\/a><\/strong> means\u00a0that pupils get to cooperate<\/strong> a lot, there are cross-curricular elements such as calculating, size evaluations\u00a0and reading comprehension<\/strong>. Finally, in the last level pupils can build their own structure, they can\u00a0develop anything. It is the moment to challenge themselves starting with an idea and then turning it into\u00a0a lifesize creation. At this point, Infento offers the possibility to use the 3D software Sketchup<\/a><\/strong>, so pupils\u00a0can eventually even use a 3D printer<\/strong> to print their own add-on materials<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Through the different levels children start\u00a0learning technical skills, <\/strong>thus\u00a0making kids inventors of their own toys,<\/strong>\u00a0starting by\u00a0building basic structures and finishing building 18 real vehicles forms<\/strong>. Infento<\/a><\/strong> also allows families\u00a0to buy just a bicycle for children once, instead of buying a tricycle, then a bike with training wheels\u00a0and so on. Helping in this way children learn to walk, bike and move.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
